I’m going to go ahead and announce this nice and early to see if that will be helpful for people to find and download anime episodes in time for everyone to watch them before the club’s first post in June. For this upcoming month, we will be watching everyone’s favorite spirit-possession-themed figure skating romcom, Ginban Kaleidoscope!

Just thought I’d share some random thoughts on all the anime I’ve been watching for the spring 2012 season. I think I’ve tried out more shows this season than I have any other, which I suppose says a lot for how good things are right now. I’ve chosen to stick with six of them–namely the first six on my list here.

The mysteries of Ookami Kakushi are gradually unraveling, and the various characters are beginning clash much more violently. Episodes 5 to 8 may not have taken me by surprise too much, but overall I feel it’s coming along nicely.

Happy Mother’s Day for all the mothers who may be stopping by this site today. Hope you have a wonderful day!

To celebrate, I thought I’d pick a few of my favorite mother characters from anime of the past year or so, and have a little spotlight…

“Justice and righteousness can not save the world. I care nothing for them.”

There are a great number of character archetypes out there in the world of fiction, and amongst protagonists it’s generally pretty easy to make the distinction between a hero and an anti-hero. Fate/Zero is pretty unique in how it is overall more about an event rather than a specific character (ie the story is about the Holy Grail War). But if I were to pick out who our protagonist is, it makes sense to go with Kiritsugu. And when I think of Kiritsugu, I don’t think of him as just an example of an anti-hero, but also a Byronic hero.

(Note: Fate/Zero spoilers in this post, up to episode 18.)

Alongside YumeState.com, time-to-time I write on a blog focused on my personal life. As a firm believer of Christianity and after visiting TWWK’s http://beneaththetangles.wordpress.com/ blog, I found there’s definitely an interesting medium between anime and personal life. Note: religion is not the focus of this post, so please continue to read on even if you’re someone who dislikes discussing spirituality.

In this post, I want to discuss what are gifts and talents, how are they used in anime, and how they relate to our lives. I believe even though these are two very basic concepts and are universally understood by the general community, they are not explored enough outside the anime medium.

This IS my excited face.

Hyouka was a show I was looking forward to for this spring season, largely because I’m interested in mysteries, and perhaps also because the creators of this show also made Nichijou. So after three episodes, how do I think it holds up?

Those exclamation marks… Are they for the title of the show, or for the title of this post?!! Well, here’s a kids show that nobody’s blogging for spring. I picked a number at random, and since many people enjoy a good list, I’ll go ahead and type out some reasons for everyone to watch Here Comes the Black Witch!!
