Note: At the time of starting this post, it was Week 1 of Winter 2012. Obviously that’s not the case anymore, but I will try to stammmy more current from now on!

Greetings everyone, it’s been some time since my last post, so I thought I would briefly discuss what’s happening so far in terms of my personal life. After enduring a really tough school year full of exams and group projects, I am finally free! Graduating from Business Management, I will be hopefully finding a job soon related to something in my field. As you may have noticed, I have been quite inactive around YumeState for the past couple of months because of this. Rest assured though, I will be updating and working diligently now to bring you the best Yumestate has to offer.

As for the start of the Winter 2012 season, I will be following two four shows, and maybe a fifth or sixth depending on how much I like it. Surprisingly, I’m actually following these shows on a per week basis, something that I was strongly against in the past. If you’ve read any of my older posts, you may have noticed that I really don’t like waiting for each episode to air, and instead would download a batch of the completed anime and then marathon it. I will be writing another post regarding this matter in detail, so expect that within the next 48 hours. Lets get started;

My first anime is Amagami SS+, which is one of my all-time favourite romance anime. The first season followed an omnibus format originally introduced with Yosuga No Sora, another romance anime that I liked. As far as I know, there aren’t any other anime that have followed this format, but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. The omnibus format basically allows for separate “what-if” scenarios to occur between the main protagonist and the six lead heroines. Instead of choosing one girl as his love interest, he gets to interact with each heroine exclusive of any others. Basically, a chance at love for each!

Obviously this is not common in our society, otherwise that would be a rare case of polygamy. Nonetheless, it works well with Amagami SS since there are so many lovable characters in it. If you would like to find out more, check out my later post on Amagami SS.

My second anime that I am following is Nisemonogatari, a sequel to Bakemonogatari, or loosely translated to english as a combination of two words, “Ghost” and “Story”. Combining the two, we get “Ghostory”. Nisemonogatari contains very heavy dialog, similar to the original series. In the original, ghosts, spirits, and monsters have somehow affected each of the heroines, whether it be through corruption, taking over of the body, or cursing them, the main protagonist must find a way to help each of them.

Bakemonogatari is considered one of my favourites simply because of how well the story is told from the main character’s perspective. Sometimes things can get confusing due to the sheer amount of dialog, but you always have the option of re-reading it when watching. There is great foreshadowing and strong character development, making you feel like each character is truly unique in their own sense.

Although I’ve only seen one episode of Nisemonogatari, it seems to be following right along with what we came to love in Bakemonogatari. Heavy plot, strong character development, the playful banter and unique dialog, and of course, the original cast returning from Bakemonogatari. The main difference between the two is that Nisemonogatari focuses on the main character’s two sisters, who have somehow been afflicted with Ghosts/Monsters themselves. I plan to write a blog post exclusively for Nisemonogatari, but that will come probably once we’ve gotten to the half way mark of the series first.

A quick list of other anime I will be following, but possibly not have enough time to blog about:

Mouretsu Pirates
Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Inu x Boku
Kill Me Baby
Aquarion EVOL

And with that, I will leave you guys with some screenshots of the anime I have been watching. Until next time!
